What is EA Sports?


EA Sports is a part of Electronic Arts company that pivots majorly on video games based on real-life sports—well known for releasing video games such as NBA Live, FIFA, NHL, etc. The company headquartered in California, USA.
They do not have tie-ups on a single video game platform; they can find their games on multiple platforms like Xbox, Playstation, etc; because of this reason, they remain competitive in the electronic gaming industry.


Executive Summary


Reports indicate that hackers were able to steal a total of 780GB of data from EA
servers. The data has now been put up for sale in various underground hacking forum posts.
In June 2021, EA confirmed the breach in a statement with VICE, stating, “We are investigating a recent incident of intrusion into our network where a limited amount of game source code and related tools were stolen. Accessed no player data, and we have no reason to believe there is any risk to player privacy. Following the incident, we’ve already made security improvements and do not expect any impact on our games or business. We are actively working with law enforcement officials and other experts as part of this ongoing criminal investigation.”
Attackers managed to stole some of their EA data and services worth $28 million.
